Haute Event: “Springtime in Paris” at the Philadelphia Flower Show

The 2011 Philadelphia Flower Show, aptly named “Springtime in Paris” has really raised the bar this year!

As soon as you enter the Convention Center, you are immersed in everything Parisian. I have been to Paris and the creators of this year’s show left no stone unturned! The Eiffel Tower is surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees; there are exhibits capturing the City of Lights in all its splendor; there were artists with easels painting the beautiful gardens; Monet’s garden and the Tuileries Garden were captured to perfection; and beautiful french music playing in the background.

After touring the exhibits, I spent time looking at all the entries in the floral arranging and plant categories. The talent and creativity of so many designers and gardeners is truly amazing and inspiring. Lastly, there were vendors selling everything from flowers, ceramics, jewelry, outdoor furniture, botanical prints and gardening tools. The atmosphere was blissful! After the winter we have had in Philadelphia it was a pleasure to spend a springtime afternoon in Paris surrounded by beauty!

The Philadelphia International Flower Show is the largest indoor flower exhibition in the entire world. “Springtime in Paris” will run through March 13 at the Philadelphia Convention Center.
