Haute Event: Joel McHale Hosts Dewar’s Scotch Whiskey “Defining the Modern Man”

Despite the rain this past Wednesday night, the Redbury Hotel in Hollywood was packed with attendees who were eager to experience an evening of laughter and witty banter. This jubilant affair, entitled, “Defining the Modern Man,” courtesy of Dewar’s Scotch Whiskey, was a comical debate led by The Soup and NBC’s Community star, Joel McHale.

His panel discussion was joined by  actor Jesse Williams from Grey’s Anatomy, actress Alison Brie from Community, writer Dan Dunn and KP Anderson the head writer and Executive Producer of The Soup, all of whom comically tackled the subject of who and what the modern man actually is.  Answers ranged from, “A man that drinks Dewar’s (naturally), adhering to the “manscaping” policy of staying clean and shaved, and no fruity drinks.”

Other attendees of the night included designers Rebecca Minkoff and Ben Shulman, television personality and fashion journalist, Louise Roe and British actress Gemma Chan. My personal favorite debate of the night was at the evening’s conclusion when asked, “Who isn’t the modern man?” McHale quickly piped in, “Dudes on Harley Davidsons!” I would definitely have to agree with him on that one.
