Haute Event: GOOD LA Throws Fundraising Party at Atwater Crossing

Los Angeles may be known for its car culture and flashy rides, but driving in the city is not always a privilege, especially at rush hour.  Last year, CicLAvia proved that it’s worth freeing ourselves from the gridlock when they shut down 7.5 miles of L.A. roads in order to “create a temporary web of public space” for Angelinos to bike, walk, and hang out while celebrating their city.

Recognizing how “good” this was for the city, Good LA decided to help CicLAvia raise money to keep closing the streets by throwing them a party at Atwater Crossing, a haute new social and creative center in Atwater Village.  Atwater Crossing brings together artisanal manufacturing facilities, creative offices, locations for photo and film shoots, theaters, and a yoga studio and gym into a space that will foster creativity within the community.  Later this year, a restaurant, the ATX Eatery, will be added to the complex. The ATX Eatery will boast a menu made up of the highest quality ingredients and fresh produce pulled from the onsite linear farm, as well as live jazz and other performances.

This Saturday, Good LA and CicLAvia will make Atwater Crossing come alive during the party, which includes performances from Columbian band Very Be Careful, The Finches, Telematique, and the DUBLAB.com DJs.  There will be free food truck tasters, locally harvested produce, and fine wines and sustainably-brewed beers, along with yoga classes, experimental art, bike tours and more.  750 people are expected to be in attendance, most of whom will be LA’s young innovators and leaders.
