Haute Dining: Inman Park Spring Restaurant Week

It’s that wonderful time of year again when spring flowers are blooming, restaurant patios are booked, and Atlanta foodies are preparing to indulge in some of the finest food the city has to offer during Inman Park Restaurant Week. This weeklong culinary celebration kicks off Monday, March 28, 2011, and gives Atlantans the opportunity to experience their favorite chefs and restaurants or find new ones.

Instead of just going to your favorite Inman Park eatery and paying for an appetizer, entree and dessert separately, during Inman Park Restaurant Week you can go to the same place and enjoy a three course meal for one flat rate. With price points set at $15, $25 and $35 and participating restaurants spanning the culinary spectrum, even the pickiest of eaters will leave happy. Diners can delight in enchiladas camarones and flan at Pure Taqueria for $15, avocado eggrolls, shrimp and grits and brioche bread pudding at Park’s Edge for $25 or finally sample the offerings at Kevin Rathbun Steak for $35. However with so many places to choose from for lunch and dinner, why not round out the week and try them all.

While the amazing cuisine in this restaurant-rich area is reason enough to run out next week and eat your way through Inman Park, the participating restauranteurs are not involved simply to fill seats. Every bi-annual Inman Park Restaurant Week benefits a worthy organization trying to end hunger for many of our friends and neighbors and next week’s event is no exception. This spring’s restaurant week will benefit Open Hand, an organization dedicated to ensuring proper nutrition for everyone no matter their socio-economic status. For $1.00 patrons can purchase a raffle ticket, benefitting Open Hand, at participating restaurants for a chance to win one of three hosted hor d’ouerves, beer and wine parties for ten friends at Kevin Rathbun’s Steak’s patio, with each of the participating eateries bringing tastes from their restaurants to the winners as well. So go ahead and indulge in some of the city’s best dishes while supporting a worthy cause all week long, I promise I won’t tell your trainer.
