Years ago, Portuguese sailors discovered Mozambique on one of the many journeys they made to replenish supplies while on their way to the countries in the Far East, and it was here that they discovered an unusual spice called Peri-Peri. This unique spice is still used today in the country’s colorful seaside restaurants where countless locals and visitors line up for mouth-watering Peri-Peri chicken and giant grilled Peri-Peri prawns (best enjoyed with a cold lager).
It was this same mysterious country where two young boys independently spent memorable family vacations. When they met later in life, the two young men bonded around their common love for this flavorful food and it cemented a lifetime of friendship and the birth of their special project–Mozambique Restaurant and Coastal Lounge. With the help of a California friend, they’ve created an unforgettable experience that is exotic and yet close to heart and home that’s not to be missed.
