Years ago, Portuguese sailors discovered Mozambique on one of the many journeys they made to replenish supplies while on their way to the countries in the Far East, and it was here that they discovered an unusual spice called Peri-Peri. This unique spice is still used today in the country’s colorful seaside restaurants where countless locals and visitors line up for mouth-watering Peri-Peri chicken and giant grilled Peri-Peri prawns (best enjoyed with a cold lager).

It was this same mysterious country where two young boys independently spent memorable family vacations. When they met later in life, the two young men bonded around their common love for this flavorful food and it cemented a lifetime of friendship and the birth of their special project–Mozambique Restaurant and Coastal Lounge.  With the help of a California friend, they’ve created an unforgettable experience that is exotic and yet close to heart and home that’s not to be missed.

Enjoy Peri-Peri Chicken or Peri-Peri Prawns on the pet-friendly patio, or feast in one of the elegantly decorated dining rooms. You’ll swear you’ve set sail to points unknown and learn why the combination of the ambiance and flavor is as good as the real thing.

And, if the fare alone doesn’t tempt you (but, trust us it will), visit the website’s calendar to check out which fabulous live music act will be playing in the Shebeen Lounge on the weekends.  You’ll recognize a lot of your favorites like Quino from Big Mountain and the English Beat.

The location is simply paradise for special groups and events.

Scrumptious Starter Plates: Peri-Peri Chicken Pops, Peri-Peri Prawns, Wok-Charred Ahi Tuna, Peri-Peri Chicken Livers, Portobello Stack; One of our favorites: Beet Salad with Arugula, red and gold beets, pickled onion, goat cheese, raspberry adobe vinaigrette

Entrees served with wood-fired roasted pineapple slaw, black eye peas, mazavaroo fries. The restaurant also boasts a surprisingly vast wine list; Mozambique Favorites: Peri-Peri Prawns, Peri-Peri Chicken, Vegetable, Durban or Seafood Curry, Steak & Lobster, Seared Tuna Steak, Moroccan Style Chilean Sea Bass

From The Grill: Chop House Sirloin Steak, Center-Cut Filet Mignon, Pork Chop, Prime Bone-in Rib Eye Steak, Prime New York Strip Steak, Double Cut Colorado Lamb Chops, Mixed Grill, Wild Salmon, Kobe Beef Burger

Mozambique also offers a SAFE RIDE: A complimentary shuttle service within a 5 mile coastal radius. How nice is that?
