Raise your hand if you were “Born This Way”! Lady Gaga will once again take the stage in Phoenix for round two of her Monster Ball Tour. But even if you didn’t score tickets to the show — and especially if you did — Bar Smith is where you’ll want to be post-concert for the official after-party.
Mother Monster is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at the U.S. Airways Center, but just because the curtain eventually has to close doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Migrate with the rest of the little monsters over to Bar Smith on Washington Street, where Lady Gaga’s DJ and bestie, Lady Starlight, will perform.
From 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., not only will Lady Starlight and a number of Bar Smith DJs be spinning, but the evening will also be scattered with performances by Pyra Sutra from Scandalesque and fire-breathing bartenders.
Those who count themselves among Gaga’s followers likely already know how important Lady Starlight is to the five-time Grammy award winner. The pair used to perform together on the rock scene in New York City’s Lower East Side, going by the name of Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue. Then the duo performed at the 2007 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago to critical acclaim and the rest, as they say, is history. But Lady Starlight still deejays for Lady Gaga, and the two remain good friends — as well as share similarly defiant fashion styles. And we can’t wait to see what the two of them wear the night of the concert.
Speaking of what to wear … Entry to the after-party will cost you $10 to $20, but if you wear a Lady Gaga costume or show your concert ticket stub, you’ll receive a $5 discount. And if you have a concert ticket stub and wear a Lady Gaga costume, well, maybe you can work out an even better discount with the bouncer? You’re on your own.
Regardless, this is one party you don’t want to miss.
