Haute Event: Heidi Klum and Diet Coke Support of The Heart Truth Campaign

Seeing as February is American Heart Month, it was only fitting that Diet Coke partnered with supermodel Heidi Klum to play its first-of-a-kind “Capture the Flag” game with the goal of raising awareness and funds for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s The Heart Truth® campaign last Tuesday.

As team captain, Klum competed at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Drake Stadium in order to raise funds for the UCLA Preventative Cardiology Program and the University of California, Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program. “Capture the Flag is such a fun game, so when Diet Coke asked me to join the team, I was in!” Klum said. “It’s simple for anyone to participate: go online, capture a flag, and you’ve raised money. Capture more flags. Raise more money. It’s that easy.” Natasha Bedingfield, Chelsie Hightower, Ryan Kwanten and the Laker Girls were also at the game to support the cause. While heart disease is still the number one killer among women, The Heart Truth® campaign and Diet Coke are hoping that together they can educate women on the seriousness of heart disease and motivate them to include more heart healthy choices into their day-to-day lives.

Diet Coke will be hosting more “Capture the Flag” games in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Seattle and Washington D.C, as well as a national game online at DietCoke.com/HeartTruth that will be ongoing throughout the month of February.
