Haute to Help: Belle of the Ball

You are a social fashionista.  Every hot fundraiser, cocktail party and diplomatic gathering in town is not complete until you saunter in.  And every time you are donning a new designer frock that puts every other lady’s gown to shame. But, of course, you would never be caught in the same thing twice.  That would be near shameful.  So what do you do with that closet full of elegant evening wear that shall never see the light of the moon again? Share your fashion wins of evenings past with a young girl dreaming of being the Belle of the Ball.

Since 2005, Anton’s Cleaners has been collecting, cleaning and distributing evening gowns to high school seniors and juniors who would otherwise be unable to attend their school prom due to lack of finances. Since the program began, 1,475 young girls have received dresses.

On Saturday, April 16th at select boutiques around the region, pre-qualified young ladies will have the opportunity to select the dress or gown of their choice for that magical night.

Dress donations are being accepted now through April 1st at any Anton’s Cleaners or Jordan’s Furniture locations.  Dresses should be gently worn, in good condition and generally only 3 to 4 years old (older but still trendy dresses will be accepted).

So get your spring cleaning started a little early and pull out all those fabulous gowns of parties past. Convince your girlfriends to donate as well.  And with that new gaping hole in your closet, you and your gal pals will have all the more reason to head out on a fresh shopping spree.
