Haute in the Boston ‘Burbs: The Danish Pastry House

Those great Danes can make a whole lot more than just a killer breakfast pastry. And amid the sea of Italian bakeries of Medford, MA comes this haven of tasty goodies that you may not be able to pronounce but you will easily be able to consume with a big ‘ole smile on your face.

From fine pastries worthy f gift giving and almost too pretty to eat to everyday grab and go goodness, there is a wide selection of options at the Danish party House. Chances are you will need several trips back before you have a chance to sample every item that tempts your tongue.

Not sure where to start?  The Kringle, their signature pastry, is a great introduction to Danish delights. Akin to a coffee cake, but surrounded in light flaky pastry, it is certain to be a favorite for those with a liking for a touch of sweetness in their morning (or afternoon or evening, for that matter).

The Medford location is part retail bakery, part café, making it easy to indulge cravings instantly and to bring along plenty to share with friends, family or employees.  They are open for breakfast and lunch and generally stay open until 9 or 10P every night.  Stop by for Sunday brunch to sample their breads, egg sandwich creations, micro-brewed coffees and Birckmuesli with homemade lemon whipped cream.  Or, bring the best to you and your next event with their catering offerings. There is also a second retail bakery only location in Watertown when a trek to Medford is just a tad too far away.

What else might tempt your palate?  Stunning custom cake designs, delicate marzipan, tebirkes (a delicate poppy seed pastry), sticky buns, French Macaroons and imported Belgian chocolates are just some of the remarkable options available at this hidden suburban gem.
