Last night’s annual Ahlan Hot 100 party saw the bright young things gather for a party of quite spectacular proportions. Held at Dubai’s Meydan Hotel, the red carpet event was a salute to the city’s finest entrepreneurs, entertainers, activists and creative minds.
The Ahlan Hot 100 is the kind of list that nobody admits they would like to be on… but secretly would love to be. The roll call is the names that have had an impact on the Dubai scene in their chosen field, shaping the identity of a city that craves innovation and a sense of optimism. The evening also served as an opportunity for folk to come together and celebrate not only the talent of a chosen few, but also the ‘anything is possible’ platform that Dubai is renowned for. Like everywhere in the world, growth slowed, but not the ideas and thirst for new and exciting concepts.
After battling through the red carpet and up onto the vast expanse of the upper terrace, guests could indulge in the live cooking stations and wander around the portrait boards of each Hot 100 personality. The mix of multiple industries and personalities served the atmosphere well; TV and radio personalities stood shoulder to shoulder with those actively changing and shaping the community through philanthropy or education. Of course, some mischief of some of the Hot 100s could not go unnoticed – The lovable Kris Fade (very popular Virgin Radio DJ) donned a black ‘Jason’ style mask that had many laughing but also received a few perplexed looks.
Whether it be an artist, designer or property mogul, the Hot 100 party is a welcome opportunity for folks to do a little bit of back slapping, high-fiving and dancing under the stars.
