Haute Dining: Petrossian Boutique and Restaurant in West Hollywood Welcomes New Chef

Hear the name Petrossian and instantly the finest caviar in the world blissfully comes to mind. But now there’s another enticing reason to visit the casual, yet elegant restaurant located on Robertson – the innovative menu by its new Executive Chef, Giselle Wellman.

Giselle Wellman joined Petrossian three months ago much to the delight of neighborhood regulars and new-comers alike. She previously worked at Mario Batali’s Del Posto and Jack’s La Jolla, most recently served in the kitchen of Thomas Keller at Bouchon Beverly Hills and is a master of fresh pasta and seafood.

Guests can come for caviar and Caviar-tinis during Happy Hour, or enjoy a wonderful salad or pasta dish for lunch or dinner. Both menus feature an entire section devoted to caviar service and signature caviar dishes, such as Petrossian’s Caviar flatbread ($26), Smoked Sturgeon Risotto ($22), and Napoléon Tartare with Caviar ($26).  Lunch offerings include a Black Mission Fig and Persimmon Salad ($14), Smoked Salmon Sandwich ($16), and Flat Iron Tartine ($18).  Dinner features such items as Cauliflower Soup topped with Caviar ($12), Duck Confit Salad ($16), and Truffle Fontina Agnalotti ($24) to name a few.  Desserts include the Trio of Caramel: Powder Caramel, Caramel Crème Brûlée, and Salted Caramel Truffle ($8); Poached Red Wine Pear with Spiced Crème Fraîche, Granola, and Vanilla Ice Cream ($8); and the piece de Resistance, the Taste of Chocolate: Assorted Chocolates, Chocolate Cranberry Toffee, Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Moelleux ($18).

Petrossian continues to host a nightly Happy Hour and Monday night Caviar Tastings, in addition to offering lunch and dinner six days and week and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The boutique area adjacent to the dining room offers guests a way to continue the experience at home and is an ideal shopping destination for host or hostess gifts and customized epicurean gift baskets including tastes of Caviar, Smoked Salmon, Foie Gras, and French Chocolates.

This March will mark the tenth year anniversary for the L.A. location – a perfect reason to come by and toast the happy occasion.  (As if we needed another excuse).

Petrossian Boutique & Restaurant is open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Saturday and Happy Hour is from 5 – 7 p.m. those nights. Champagne brunch is served Saturday and Sunday. The interior displays a collection of artwork for sale by local artist Robert Gomez (www.gomezArtworks.com).

Petrossian is located at 321 Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, 310.271.0576. For more information and/or to sign up for Petrossian’s newsletter visit www.petrossian.com
