$1,000 Bordeaux Dinner at Osteria Mozza

Forgoing Valentine’s Day this year in an effort to save for something special—perhaps a luxurious trip or a down payment on one of the year’s new “super” cars? You might want to reconsider those options because a once-in-a-lifetime wine tasting dinner, organized by none other than local wine savant Ian Blackburn, is upon us.

Just two days after the romantic holiday, Blackburn, founder of the cultish organization, Learn About Wine, will partner with the highly coveted Osteria Mozza for a one-night-only, 18-person event. Even though the evening of extreme exclusivity promises to set guests back $995, the value is stifling. With vintages, from years including 1945 and 1961, and a cameo from a 2000 Chateau Ausone valued at $3,000, the dinner is approximately worth an unthinkable $1,7000.

A multi-course dinner in one of the osteria’s private rooms will follow the surreal night of flawlessly curated blind and non-blind tastings.

For all you fashion-minded individuals out there, the thrill of an event such as this can be likened to scoring a shearling Chanel bag or Hermes Birkin for about 300 big ones, a deal of epic proportions worthy of a few thankful tears.
