Wine and Roses

Among New Yorkers, one of the most popular pastimes is wine bar lounging. Whether it is after work or on a Saturday night, they are one of the most relaxing places of choice in New York City. Opting which wine bar to go to can be overwhelming considering the plethora of options that are out there, specifically on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. If you walk down Columbus Avenue, you could sight at least two wine bars per block. For those indecisive in nature, like myself, this could prove to be agitating.

Living in the West 80s, I have been able to try out many of these wine bars, and I have finally come across my first pick— Wine and Roses at 73rd and Columbus. It is small and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. During a warm summer afternoon or on a cold winter night, it is the perfect place to settle in and enjoy your favorite Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc. They also have the perfect menu to go along with their lengthy wine list, which features salads, pastas, meats, fish and desserts.

After a stressful day at work, the aura of Wine and Roses is simply perfect. The small space provides a personal experience, without the ordinary loud and hectic atmosphere of New York City dining. The next time you’re looking for a wine bar to enjoy on the Upper West Side, Wine and Roses it is!
