You could head to the grocery store or your favorite pharmacy to pick up a box of chocolates for your true love on Valentine’s Day. Or take a little extra time to check out one of these chocolate shops for a Valentine’s Day gift that will be perfect to show how much you care. Here are the top five chocolate shops in Las Vegas

1 Max Brenner

This place is like something straight out of Willy Wonka’s world. Chocolate bedecks everything — pizzas, quesadillas and more — at Max Brenner's two-story chocolate emporium. The new 9,400-square-foot boutique at the Forum Shops at Caesars features white vats mixing chocolate into the chocolate pipes that run throughout the entire space. Guests are put in the mood with a cornucopia of chocolates in huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. For a less daunting choices, go for chocolate S’mores.

2 Jean Philippe Patisserie

We love the Jean Philippe Patisserie digs at the Bellagio, where the world’s largest chocolate fountain entertains, but the new boutique at Aria at CityCenter overlooks the casino floor for optimal people watching. Go for something seasonal or try delicacies such as the chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut chocolate spread, Butterfinger sticks or hot chocolate pearls. Simply delish.

3 Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro

You can’t miss a stop at Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro at Caesars Palace, where pastry chef François Payard shows off his chocolate skills. Look for boxed sets with ganaches and wafers galore mixed with nuts and truffles. We love just walking through to look at these tiny works of art.

4 Vosges Haut-Chocolat

For exotic choices, we recommend Vosges Haut-Chocolat, where rare spices find their ways into chocolates. Mix spices, herbs, roots, flowers, fruits, nuts and the obscure with chocolates and you have a perfect sensory exploration.

5 Ethel M Chocolates

For 30 years, Ethel M Chocolates has been turning out chocolate delights in Henderson. You can never go wrong with treats such as the milk chocolate collection, the dark chocolate collection, nuts and caramels, kosher sweets and the special artisan’s line. We like to head to the factory in Henderson for a tour of chocolate making in the process and a walk through the Botanical Cactus Garden, a three-acre collection of 300 species of plants from the Southwest, Australia and South America. Simply divine.
