What Made Him Haute: Arguably the finest actor of his generation, Robert De Niro continues to release blockbuster hits, now acting as producer in many of the films he stars in. He has teamed up with fellow Haute 100 member director Martin Scorsese for the upcoming flick “The Irishman.” De Niro is also a force in Tribeca real estate and dining, owning such fixtures as the Greenwich Hotel, and the restaurant inside it, Locanda Verde.

What Makes Him Haute Now: In 2011, De Niro has been involved in many organizations and is being rewarded for his time and exemplary work with the arts community. With almost 100 movies in his repertoire this iconic actor is receiving the recognition he deserves. It was announced in late 2010 that he will be awarded the HFPA’s 2011 Cecil B. DeMille Award for his contribution to the entertainment community at the Golden Globe Awards.

De Niro was also named the head of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival for 2011, the third time the actor has held this position in the last several years. This is all in addition to his booming movie career, with “Little Fockers” recently in theaters and reported to be starring with Paul Dano in “Another Night.”
