What Made Her Haute: This Palm Beach resident is the founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which Brinker started in memory of her sister. The Race for the Cure is now the world’s largest and most successful education and fund-raising event for breast cancer, and virtually every major advance in breast cancer research has been touched by hundreds of millions of dollars provided by Komen for the Cure funding. Last year, she was honored by President Obama with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, and also named Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control for the United Nations’ World Health Organization.

What Makes Her Haute Now: Trying to fulfill a promise that Nancy made with her sister, Susan G. Komen, to find a cure for breast cancer, she has come up with the brilliant idea of launching a new limited edition fragrance, Promise Me, that will hit stores April 2011. The mission of this fragrance is to raise money for the cause. The fragrance is expected to revenue around three to four million dollars, which will all go to the foundation. There will be an eau de parfum (3.4 ounces, $59) and an eau de toilette (1 ounce, $19.99; 3.4 ounces, $29.99) version of Promise Me. A scented plastic bracelet will be presented as a gift with purchase. Some of the wonderful scents that can be found in the fragrance will be mandarin, bergamot, blood orange, fresh aldehyde, black currant, pink peony, wild orchid, rosewood, white patchouli and musk. The fragrance will run through October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The foundation will launch a new fragrance in 2012 with a new scent and packaging, so make sure to buy one before they are gone.
