My trip down to Miami for Art Basel was a whirlwind! I had such an amazing time, caught up with great friends, and was able to witness some of the most beautiful and interesting pieces of art in the world!
I love going to Miami for Art Basel every year! It’s the best parties, the best art, and the best company all in one!
When I arrived on Tuesday, my first stop was Jason and Michelle Rubell’s cocktail party in Downtown Miami where I checked out the Rubell collection. It was on two floors, with the upstairs featuring all different installation art. At the event was Nicolas Berggruen, Kelly & Steve Mack, Erica & Michael Karsch, Jeff Greene, Jason Pomeranc, Robert Vecsler, David Aaron, Christina Floyd, Coralie Charriol & Dennis Paul, Philip Levine, Meredith & Bryan Verona, Amanda Smith, Alvin Valley, and Lisa Reuben.
After the Rubell’s party we were off to the Soho Beach House. It was a perfect night to be hanging poolside with Ernesto Estra, Chadwick Lange, Eleanor Cayre, Cynthia Ott & Jim Coleman, Rodrigo de Santiago, and Derek Blasberg. It was the perfect way to start off Art Basel.
I started my next day with lunch at Soho House with Ingrid Casares, A-Rod, and Guy Oseary. That night there were so many events going on, it was hard to hit them all. Larry Gagosian had a dinner with Dasha Zhukova at Mr Chow that Alberto Mugrabi, Libbie and David Mugrabi, Nicky Hilton, Aby Rosen, and Vito Schnabel attended. I started out at Coralie Charriol and Dennis Paul’s movie screening at Soho House with Jenny Kennedy and Rob Vecsler, Amanda Smith, and Daphne Guinness, then to Jaclyn Powers’ Chanukah party with Liz Maidman and David Aaron. Then I was off to the party at John DeLucie’s new restaurant The Royal at The Raleigh with Tony Shafrazi and Naomi Campbell. Then back to the W to Wall with Goga Ashkenazi, Inga Rubenstein, Jason Pomeranc, John Mason, and Stavros Niarchos.
The next night, I went to the Nahmad’s home in Miami. Their new place done by Peter Marino is super elegant and their art is just beauty. They are such a charming family to be around. The next stop was to The Webster for a quick pop in to the La Mer event where A-Rod stopped in as well. Lizzie and Jon Tisch went to the Whitney dinner and I went to meet Chris and Richard Mack, Liz Maidman, Kelly Mack, and Meredith Verona at Mr Chow before we all went over to Samantha and Aby Rosen’s dinner, also at the W hotel, to meet up with Kamal Hotchandani, Lizzie, Jon, Hofit Golan, Libbie & David Mugrabi, Alberto Mugrabi, Larry Gagosian, Nicolas Berggruen, Al & Nick Acquavella, Nicky Hilton, Nadine Johnson, Pepe & Lourdes Fanjul, Allison Sarofim & Stuart Parr, Guy Oseary, Dasha Zhukova, A-Rod, Inga Rubenstein, Goga Ashkenazi, Fernanda Niven, Stephan de Kwiatkowski, and Lorenzo & Ulla Parker. After dinner we all went to Wall for Alex Dellal, Vito Schnabel, and Stavros Niarchos’ party.
My last day in Miami was spent at the beach at the W. Jon Mason, Jamie Diner, Eddie Churchil, Lance & Dasha Valdez, Francesca Versace, Fernanda Niven, Eric Cahan, Jessica Yellin and I all relaxed and took in the sun.
Then it was off to Loren Rodinger’s house for the YSL Vogue party, where I met up with Jane & Rusty Holzer, Ingrid Casares, A-Rod, Jillian and Jacob the Jeweler. Next stop was dinner at The Royal at The Raleigh, and then off to Wayne Boyce’s penthouse apartment for one of his amazing parties. Drew McCourt, Nicolas Berggruen, Jon Cheban, Christian Leone, and Emily Smith were all there. Last stop was to Dave Grutman’s party at LIV where Eric Morello and Rony Seikaly deejayed. Yes I did all of that in one night!
Finally it was back in New York. Thank goodness for Lizzie and Jon Tisch giving me a ride home, which makes traveling so much easier. In all, it was a wonderful time. I love going to Miami for Art Basel every year! It’s the best parties, the best art, and the best company all in one!
