This fall, the Swiss Maison d’Horlogerie is rolling out two new Classima models embodying this moment of seaside living.
The Classima collection brings vintage 1965 models up-to-the-minute, combining classical and modern elements. Fall 2011 will continue to see vintage revival from Baume & Mercier with the Classima Automatic Jumping Hour Watch, which will be launched in a limited and numbered edition of 500, and the Classima Red Gold Dual Time Zone and Power Reserve Watch.
Representing inner wealth without ostentation, the new Classima models are the very epitome of a restrained, elegant design. Bearing simplicity and discreet masculinity, efficiency, and readability, the wearer can smoothly transition from the boardroom to The Hamptons with timeless class.
The new 42 mm Classima Automatic Jumping Watch with its redefined design is driven by an automatic Dubois Depraz 14400 movement adorned with “Côtes de Genève” décor. Its attractive jumping-hour function is complemented by its silvered “barleycorn” guilloché dial graced with black numerals and a sapphire crystal case-back revealing the personalized oscillating weight revealing the brand’s PHI symbol.
Another fine Baume & Mercier release in 2011 is the Classima Red Gold Dual Time Zone and Power Reserve Watch, distinguished by its 39 mm case touched by the warmth and sophistication of 18-carat red gold. This model is equipped with a self-winding Soprod 9035 movement, and dual time-zone and power-reserve functions. The elegant black dial features a straight-line guilloché pattern and gilt hour-markers, complemented by an alligator leather strap in the same shade.
