For China’s latest project plans are in the works to create a $1.3 billion deluxe hotel in the shape and image of Dubai’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa according to Arabian Business. The country’s most audacious project to date, Beijing has teamed up with Saudi developers to complete the building.

The hotel’s announcement was made at a press conference last Wednesday. According to the People’s Daily Online, the graphics and planning of the new seven star hotel had already been completed. No completion date has been given nor specifics as to Saudi Arabia’s role in the project. Perhaps those jealous of Dubai’s tallest building wanted to get their share of fame, but was this the way to do it?
