The Best Places to Dine in Miami: Christmas Weekend 2010

Leave the dirty dishes to someone else. Instead, treat yourself and your family to reservations at one of these top Miami restaurants, each offering special meals and menus throughout Christmas weekend.

The Restaurant at The Setai

Start off your Christmas celebrations at The Restaurant at The Setai, which will serve a festive Christmas Eve dinner from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Enjoy performances by Christmas carolers while dining on The Restaurant’s award-winning cuisine, $85 per person.

The menu will also feature a special vegetarian option that will include a pumpkin veloute, oven roasted pumpkin and dlaypot tofu served with vegetables in a sweet dashi broth.$65 per person. Both meals include a complimentary glass of Taittinger Champagne upon arrival.

You can return the following day from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m for The Setai’s annual Christmas Day Jazz Brunch. Brunch is $85 per person and includes unlimited Taittinger Champagne and Bloody Marys; children 12 and under $30. Brunch will also be available Sunday, Dec. 26.

Eos at the Viceroy


From the restaurant’s 15th floor view to its collaboration with Michelin chef, Michael Psilakis and restaurateur-entrepreneur, Donatella Arpaia, Eos restaurant at the Viceroy is the ideal place to enjoy your Christmas dinner. From 1 to 8 p.m., Eos is offering a special three-course prix fixe menu with three delightful main course options: turkey medallions with truffle puree potatoes, pan-seared halibut with a clam chowder, or beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms. $55 per person. Complement the meal with paired wines for $25 per person; children, $35.

After dinner, you can head upstairs to Club 50, where Kris Kringle and his sexy helpers will be on hand to pose for pictures with Santa. They’ll be offering specialty cocktails at the stylish venue.

Tamara at the National Hotel Miami Beach


Join Tamara Restaurant at The National Hotel for its special Christmas Day Temptations menu. Start off with some traditional eggnog, followed by a first course of lobster bisque or mushroom risotto. Next, choose from their port poached pear and mesclun salad or beef carpaccio. A strawberry Champagne cocktail will follow before the main course is served, where you’ll have your choice of Angus prime rib or Chilean sea bass. And you better leave room for dessert, which will consist of a choice of an Opera Torte the layered almond sponge cake with chocolate ganache, coffee butter cream and chocolate glaze. $65 per person.

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach

The Ritz  South Beach is celebrating Christmas with a special Champagne brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bistro One LR.  The brunch promises to include an elaborate buffet of holiday favorites that will feature prime rib and turkey, braised short rib, a selection of seafood, a vodka caviar station and a slew of mouth-watering desserts. Adults will enjoy endless mimosas while children can visit the “Toy Story”-themed station for yummy kid-friendly items. $95 per adult; $45 per child.

The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne


Join The Ritz in Key Biscayne for a special holiday buffet at the beautiful Cioppino Outdoor Terrace. The brunch buffet will be available all day long. Lunch seating at noon and 12:30 p.m., and 2 and 2:30 p.m. Dinner seating at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. $90 for adults; $45 for children.
