Saab 9-4X Debuted at New England Auto Show

Saab hosted a lunch at the New England Auto Show this week where they revealed the new Saab 9-4X to the New England press. This is the first time the car was shown in the New England area. It’s first appearance was at the LA Auto Show a short time ago.

The press conference was led Saab COO and President Michael Colleran who spoke about Saab’s current position in the automotive market.

When Colleran was done speaking, the sheet was pulled off to reveal the all new Saab 9-4X, which is inspired by the Saab Aero X concept. My initial thoughts when seeing the car in person was that this new Saab is incredible sleek, sporty, and aerodynamic looking. It is a Saab 9-5 in a mide scale luxury SUV package.

Engine options for this new Saab include a naturally aspirated V6 that pumps out 265 horsepower or a slightly smaller 2.8 V6 with turbocharging power for 300 horsepower. A top of the line Aero version will ring in just under $50,000. New Englanders will be ticking off the XWD option when ordering this new Saab SUV. The Saab 9-4X will compete with the Audi Q5, Lexus RX, BMW X3 and Cadillac SRX.

The Saab display in itself was the star of the New England Motor Show and did not differ too much from the L.A. display. Walking into the display made you feel like you were walking into a world of Saab and the display had so much personality.
