New York’s New Year’s celebrations are iconic across the nation. From the world-famous Times Square ball drop to the swanky private parties in lounges across the city, this is the place to be for the best partying to ring in 2011. It was tough to pick just five, but here are our favorite places to raise your glass this New Year’s Eve.
1 Times Square with All Access Pass
Where else? Times Square is the biggest party in the United States on New Year's Eve, drawing millions every year. But who wants to wait in the cold with the crowds all day (mind you, with no public bathrooms) just to have a spot to stand in once the partying begins? Well, luckily there is a work-around. The Times Square All Access Pass allows you to hang out with your friends around the area and enjoy open bar at many of establishments in Times Square. Then, once you are good and ready, you can head toward the center and view the ball as the clocks strikes 12! Prices for the All Acess packages range from $275 to $550.
2 Gansevoort Park Avenue
A party with fabulous, beautiful people and live entertainment from the legendary hip-hop diva Lauryn Hill is exactly what you will find at the Gansevoort Park Ave's Rooftop New Year's Eve celebration. Guests will party in the two penthouse levels with five bars as well as table service.
New York, NY
1Oak has been one of New York's top spots to party for some time; located in Chelsea, it's attracted celebs year after year. If you are looking for a trendy New year's Eve experience, this is the place to head to. General Admission is $175. Tables range in price from $2,000 to $10,000.

4 Hudson Terrace
The Hudson Terrace is one of New York's top venues for private parties (we at Haute Living have been to quite a few); it's hosted fetes for politicians, celebs, diplomats and fashionistas. On New Year's Eve, there will be an upscale crowd nibbling on hors d'oeuvres and enjoying a top shelf open bar for six hours from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
5 Harbor Lights Yacht
With New Year's Eve comes a ton of headaches: no cabs venue-to-venue, lines everywhere, drunken people yelling in the streets. Well, get off the island and head to the Harbor Lights Yacht for a classy New Year's Eve celebration. You will get breathtaking views of major New York City landmarks (the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan Bridge, 2011 Fireworks Display) while enjoying some glitz and glam. Also included are passed hors d'oeuvres, a full buffet dinner and open bar.
