Holiday party season is in full swing and who doesn’t want to look their best at special events, especially when photos are being taken.
Celebrities always look perfect when walking the red carpet, which is due in great part to the team of hair and makeup artists that prepare them for the event.
All the rage around the country right now are blow dry bars like L.A.’s The Dry Bar or BLOWNY in New York, so I was super excited to hear that finally Las Vegas has its own blow dry bar, Platinum Entourage Blow Dry Bar + Makeup Bar and Salon.
What is a blow dry or blow out bar? No cuts, no color, just blowouts to glam-up your hair. The concept is simple, chic and affordable. For $35, clients pick a style from the menu then their hair is washed, blow-dried and styled. Voilá, you are catwalk perfect in no time.
Platinum Entourage goes one step further than most blow dry bars; they also offer makeup services.
So of course I had to check it out. And I dragged the art director of a magazine I work for kicking and screaming. She was so skeptical, she finally gave up and let the professionals work on her when she was in town for the magazine launch party — she needed go from drab to fab and fast. Like a fairy-godmother (or sister) I whooshed her off to Platinum Entourage.
The photo at the top is what Beth looked like before her styling. She browsed the menu and decided on the Platinum Signature Style, a bouncy and polished Victoria’s Secret runway-esque look.
Then is was off to wash. Beth selected an essential oil (coconut) from the menu, a treatment that is great for the hair and helps to keep your hair smelling fresh in smokey environments. The stylist adds it in after your shampoo and conditioner.
Time for the blow out.
She decided to go for it all and got the makeup service as well. Don’t be afraid of false eyelashes, ladies, they brighten the face.
