16 Days of Christmas at Sixteen

Possibly jealous of the eight days of Hanukkah or just wanting to stretch out the holiday season as long as possible, the Trump Chicago launched Sixteen Days of Christmas to double the celebration from December 16 through December 31, 2010. Throughout the 16-day event, guests are invited to participate in a variety of festive activities, from gingerbread decorating and tableside caviar service to Christmas caroling and specially designed tasting menus.

Highlights:

Sommelier Rachael Lowe will kick-off “16 Days of Christmas” December 16 at 6 p.m with a wine-maker dinner featuring Opus One Winery. During this exclusive event (seating is limited to 30), attendees will have the rare opportunity to experience a guided tasting of the vineyard’s world-famous Bordeaux blends. Cost is $225 per person, exclusive of tax, alcohol and gratuity.

Children looking to brush up on their manners before family get-togethers can attend a special Etiquette Class with Mrs. Claus on Saturday, December 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. inside the restaurant’s Bridges Room. While parents enjoy “Champagne Saturday” with Fluteau Champagne inside the main dining room at Sixteen, Mrs. Claus will teach children proper dining etiquette over lunch. The class costs $35 per child.

On Monday, December 20, Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski’s team will lead gingerbread decorating from 4 to 6 p.m., helping guests prepare creations that will wow friends and family at Christmastime. The class costs $45 per person, and all supplies will be provided.

Guests who revel in the sweeter side of the holiday season will enjoy a five-course dessert tasting menu on Thursday, December 23 that will offer one savory entrée from Chef Brunacci followed by a succession of four dessert creations from Chef Kosikowski. The dinner will be served at Sixteen and is priced at $75 per person, exclusive of tax, alcohol and gratuity.

On Tuesday, December 28, guests will have the unique opportunity to enhance Chef Brunacci’s exquisite tasting menus and a la carte dinner selections with a variety of international caviars. Servers will present the caviar options table-side, and diners can choose their preferred taste, with prices ranging from $24 to 160 per ounce.
