The Glamour Woman of the Year Awards has its different national versions in many countries of North and South America, Europe and Africa. Each autumn, the magazine holds the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards across the world and recognizes women in the public eye.
In the second half of November, Moscow learned the name of the winner of this title in Russia. The glitzy event took place in the New Opera Theatre for the sixth time with many celebrities in attendance. The readers of Glamour and users of Glamour.com vote on the awards. According to the voting results, the most talented, beautiful, successful and stylish stars of Russian movie, fashion, television and Internet industries were named in 11 categories.
The winner in the main category “Glamour Woman of the Year 2010” was the glamorous singer and actress Vera Brezhneva, who picked up her award in a bespoke, lingerie-inspired dress.
It looks like the Russian “glamour ideology” does not stand very far apart from, for instance, the British. Similarly young and talented singer and TV presenter Cheryl Cole was named Woman of the year by British edition in 2010.
