Vanidades hosted its fifth annual Magia de la Moda fashion event at Miami Beach’s Bass Museum of Art on Friday, Oct. 22, during Funkshion Fashion Week. The high-fashion runway show was emceed by Satcha Pretto, co-host of Univision’s Primer Impacto, and showcased the season’s chicest eveningwear and accessories with a surprise finale and appearance by Luca Luca’s creative director Raul Melgoza.

Following a bustling cocktail reception held in the lower lobby level, guests were summoned up the Bass Museum’s winding ramps into the great hall at which time emcee Satcha Pretto kicked off the runway show.

Kicking-off the 70-look show, Trina Turk offered South Floridians a glimpse of fall and winter’s most popular evening trends in deep shades of gray, cranberry and black – a sophisticated color palette that was seen throughout the evening by participating designers Elie Tahari Bal Harbour, Ina Soltani, Jacqueline Quinn and Laundry by Shelly Segal. Elegant handbags by Laura Buccellati and Beautiful People along with footwear by Sergio Rossi Bal Harbour and bold jewelry by Daniella Kronfle and Diane Marie Designs completed each look. During the highly anticipated finale, Luca Luca Creative Director Raul Melgoza debuted the label’s Spring/Summer 2011 line — available at Luca Luca Bal Harbour — featuring a number of whimsical silhouettes evoking the magic of the upcoming seasons.

Showcasing the looks on the runway were some of television’s hottest personalities and fashion authorities including Telemundo’s Azucena Cierco, Jorge Bernal and Quique Usales; Univision’s Alejandra Espinoza; Mega TV’s Angie Perez; actresses Ivelyn Giro, Jessica Fox and Martiza Rodriquez; actor and singer Melvin Cabrera; and last but not least, international model Ines Rivero, who cascaded down the runway in Luca Luca’s finale gown.
