Style Seekers: Save The Date

Attention Fashion-philes! Not normally known for its fashion prowess, this weekend L.A. is doing its best to ramp up its style quotient. Here’s a few events must-attend events this weekend that will do wonders for your wardrobe.

Balenciaga has more than its fare share of fans who no doubt are chomping at the bit to clock Balenciaga’s latest limited-edition collection. Lucky for Angelenos, the collection, which re-interprets vintage Cristobel creations from the archives is on display Thursday, November 4th and Friday, November 5th at Maxfield. Run, don’t walk.

Beverly Hills is the new Milan. No really. This Saturday, Novermber 6th, the Beverly Hills Fashion Festival is setting up tents Bryant-Park style and prepping to rock the runway with some serious sartorial showings. Designers who will send looks down the runway include William Rast and Elie Tahari. Co-hosted by Jonathan Antin, the event also boasts pop-up shops and interactive retail. Ticket holders can also gain access to BHFF’s fashion packed after party at Voyeur.

L.A.’s literati will be pleased to note that according to Marc Jacobs, the hottest new accessory is: a good book. In fact, Jacob’s old accessories store has been revamped into a bookshop that opened its doors this week. Limited-edition and rare books shelve the store, along Jacobs’ branded book bags, agendas, notebooks and pencils. This is some serious nerd-core chic. I can’t help but wonder if the store will eventually carry a logo-ed pocket protector.
