Kick Off Anniversary Celebrations With Simon Pearce

Simon Pearce on the Brandywine — that little slice of bucolic heaven simultaneously serving up divine food and eye-catching art treasures — is turning 10, and who better than namesake Simon Pearce to kick off the celebration?

Renown glassblower Pearce will be at the West Chester location this Saturday, November 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet, mingle and sign a piece or two. Pick up the “Wisp” holiday bauble (that little sparkler above), and proceeds will go to benefit Philabundance, Philadelphia’s largest food bank and hunger relief organization. Or look for the limited-edition Simon Pearce anniversary vase, available through the holiday season.

Can’t make it? No worries — the party is only getting started. Mark your calendars to visit the weekend of December 10 – 12 for more anniversary festivities. On Friday the 10th, guests at an invitation-only reception will enjoy Simon Pearce’s private-label wine, delish hors d’oeuvres and get to take home a custom designed tea-light by Pearce. Saturday visitors will enjoy a wine tasting hosted by E & J Gallo Winery at 3 p.m. And Sunday will feature a wine and cheese paring event at 3 p.m., showcasing Pearce’s signature wines and artisinal cheeses from Amazing Acres in Elverson, PA.

The December weekend will also feature a special tasting menu in the restaurant, featuring items like a poached egg and truffle butter-topped fonduta rosotto and capon with ricotta gnocchi and pumpkin jus.

Head down to the store and knock a few people off your holiday shopping list. We won’t tell if you end up with a little something for yourself, too.
