This Saturday night, it’s all about being FAB or at least going FAB at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center’s (ACAC) Fall Auction Benefit (FAB). Proceeds from fabulous party and silent auction go to support ACAC’s exhibitions and programs. Get ready for an evening of fun, cocktails and great food by Dennis Dean Catering (which is reason enough to buy a ticket). And to ensure the fun and fab factor, the host committee is pretty great as well. Some notables include the rock-star publicist Liz Lapidus, Gene Kansas and Marcia Weber. And that is just the beginning.
Atlanta contemporary artist Fahamou Pecou will serve as the master of ceremonies and DJ Anne Tyler (who you probably know from her star performances in the Atlanta ballet) will be the guest DJ for the evening. Oh, did we mention, there is going to be a Sucker Punch Photo Booth and an open bar? Also, there will be fine wines on hand and a signature FAB cocktail for all to try.
If you do decide to go (which you should), don’t forget your check books because the silent auction items are really spectacular. Instead of being about things, ACAC decided to auction off experiences (actually the Dames Aflame will be the ones auctioning off these packages). Get ready for some competitive bidding. Highlights include Cirque Du Soleil-An Insider’s View, which includes two tickets and a backstage tour of their upcoming performance of OVO plus a dinner at Strip (all at Atlantic Station) . Not to mention, my personal favorite, the Art, Thongs, and Microkinis in South Beach with Stuart where you and a friend will have lunch at the Raleigh Hotel with Stuart Horodner and a special “mystery guest” on December 3 during Art Basel Miami Beach.
The Fall Auction Benefit will take place this Saturday, November 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. and will be an art-filled evening to remember.
