Haute Cause: Dance the Night Away

Dancing is a fabulous way to let off some steam, burn unwanted calories and in this case, contribute to a very worthy cause that benefits the community. On Saturday November 13 (from 8 p.m. to midnight), attendees will converge at Atlanta’s The Foundry at Puritan Mill to participate in the dance-a-thon Dance the Night Away, which puts every cent of funds raised directly back into the community. I don’t about you, but in my book that’s definitely something to dance about!

Dance the Night Away is a noncompetitive dance relay that unites all Atlanta communities in the fight to build better futures for local families, seniors and youth. By combining a fun activity that everyone can enjoy, with local activism that aids the community in various ways, Dance the Night Away is the perfect recipe for success and a perfect way to get even the most reluctant involved. To date, almost $28 million has been raised through hard work and diligent efforts. Sponsored by Agape, which strives to build communities and strengthen families, this event serves as support to economically challenged families, youth and seniors.

Participants are encouraged to create teams when participating in the dance contest and also become individual sponsors or a company sponsor. Some of Atlanta’s leading companies have come on board to sponsor this event, including: Wal-Mart, radio station V-103 and local NBC affiliate 11 Alive. There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum, so the sky is the limit as to how much money can be raised!
