What Made Them Haute: Entrepreneurs, television personalities, models and socialites, the Kardashians are a celebrity self-branding success story. The fifth season premiere of E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians boasted record ratings for the network, averaging nearly 4.7 million total viewers. And recently, the Kardashian clan plus Bruce Jenner received the honorable key to the city from Beverly Hills Mayor Jimmy Delshad.
What Makes Them Haute Now: Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian invaded Pacha NYC for a launch party for their new prepaid credit card on Tuesday night, Nov. 9. The sisters teamed up with Mobile Resource Card for the FDIC-insured card. Kim blogged, “To me, the coolest thing about this prepaid card is that when you get the card you also get a Mobile Money account for free and you can transfer your money between your accounts when you need it, using your phone. It’s like having an ATM in your phone, LOL. No one likes going to banks and ATMs and we’re constantly on our phones, so why not make it easy to manage your money from your mobile!?” The reloadable prepaid cards are being marketed as guiding teenagers to safer spending habits by allowing parents to monitor their teens’ spending. The Kardashian Prepaid MasterCard is available starting today.
