H.Wood Beauty Line Launch in New York City

The minds behind tea-infused cocktail line at the Tea Room at H.Wood in Los Angeles came to Manhattan to do a cozy, exclusive launch of their tea-infused beauty line, this week. A handful of guests sipping the h.wood “Prohibition cocktails” got a first glance at the beauty products.

I’m usually not someone who buys into the “naturally-infused” hype (because, let’s face it, everyone says it nowadays), but this line of beauty products has some interesting elements to offer.

For one, they have a lotion candle. It’s exactly what it sounds like. You light the wick and the melted “wax” is actually a lotion. I was perplexed by this, too, until the H.Wood rep told me that it’s made of natural soy, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil and essential oils (so there’s no actual wax in the candle). The candles come in scents like green apple and coconut chai.

The beauty line also includes hand, body and lip tea scrubs to exfoliate from head-to-toe. I’m a big fan of the lip scrub, espeicially with this cold weather, everything dries out and needs extra exfoliation. The lip scrubs are made of organic raw sugar, extra virgin coconut oil, raw honey, jojoba oil, shea butter, vegetable grade glycerin and organic tea. (So yes, they are edible if you choose to taste them.)

The products are selling at Henri Bendel at 55th and 5th Avenue, www.hwoodbeauty.com.
