Designing Minds: Celebrating Tastemaking Talent at Ornare

Michael Capponi, Piret Johanson, & Ken Gross

Since its inception in 1986, Ornare has been creating products that uphold the highest standards of luxury; melding quality materials with innovative design to deliver marvels of form and function. It’s about an appreciation for the tradition of excellence.

For the passed four years, the Miami Design District-outpost of the Brazilian manufacturer has been celebrating that tradition by joining with top architects, designers and builders in an event appropriately dubbed, the Tastemakers Showcase.

On Monday, Nov. 29, this year’s honorees gathered at the showroom to fete what will be a week-long showcase of their works, which will be on display to illustrate their individual, professional styles, ideas and perspectives. Among the set (this year there were 21) were such stellar talents as Michael Capponi of Capponi Construction Group, Chad Oppenheim of Oppenheim Architecture + Design, Joseph Fava of Joseph Fava Design Group, Piret Johanson of Piret Johanson Interior Design, Harry Hollub and Helene Hollub of Hollub Homes; just to name a few.

And of course, the group was joined by droves of design devotees who flocked en masse to enjoy the installation. Between sips of champagne and elbow rubbing with the likes of local social fixtures like food-world reigning royal, Lee Schrager and Miami Beach City Commissioner, Michael Gongora, guests had the opportunity to enjoy, first hand, the quality of construction of the custom organizational devices for which Ornare is known, (read: closets you can only dream of) as well as the phenomenal projects brought to life by some of the greatest design minds.

If you weren’t lucky enough to slip passed the guest list, feel free to take in the display at the Ornare showroom through the remainder of the week: 3930 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Suites 102/103, Miami Design District.
