Finding good dim sum in Miami is like finding a needle in a haystack. Let’s be honest, Miami is not necessary an internationally renowned destination when it comes to Chinese cuisine. But lucky for you, we’ve found the top five best places in the city to get some dim sum.

1 Hakkasan

Located at the famous Fontainebleau hotel, this Four Diamond restaurant was recently name the Best Chinese Restaurant in all of Miami by the Miami New Times. Hakkasan's specialty dim sum lunch menu is offered every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Choose from four menu options that include various combinations of seared, fried and steamed vegetables and dumplings.

2 Tropical Chinese

If you’re searching for the most authentically prepared and served dim sum in the city, locals agree that Tropical Chinese is the place to go. It might not look like much on the outside, but inside is about as traditional as it gets from the red lanterns hanging from the ceiling to the servers and their dim sum carts who mosey around the restaurant offering small plates.

3 The Restaurant at The Setai

TGIF? Head over to The Restaurant at The Setai for Dim Sum and Champagne Fridays. Every week from 7 p.m. to midnight, the Setai presents its special eight-plate dim sum menu. Every other month, they invite a specialty dim sum master chef who will help The Restaurant’s kitchen in preparing the menu.

4 Miss Yip Chinese Café

There's almost too many good things for us to say about Miss Yip (the restaurant and the person!) Thanks to its success in SoBe and the exploding Downtown nightlife scene, a second location only blocks from the American Airlines Arena is set to open soon. The chic and trendy Miss Yip downtown will double as a restaurant and lounge. You'll come for the atmosphere, but you'll come back for the dim sum.

5 Kon Chau Restaurant

Another one of those "can't judge a book by its cover" restaurants, Kon Chau rivals our aforementioned Tropical Chinese for the most authentic dim sum in the area. You order off of the menu instead of off of carts, but the menu has pictures so at least you'll have an idea of what you're ordering!
