Caketails for a Cause

For all my fellow Atlantans that have an undeniable sweet tooth such as I, this is an event that was tailor-made with you in mind. From 6-8 p.m.on Thursday November 11, at the iconic Bloomingdale’s at Lenox Square Mall, is the sweetest event of the year that is also raising funds for a very worthy cause that all children can benefit from. Caketails for a Cause features sinfully sweet concoctions, themes, prizes and of course delicious baked goods at your disposal. This is the perfect function to attend with your fashionable and giving friends who need a girl’s night out that they can be proud of. Helping others is the sweetest gift!

Caketails for a Cause benefits Share Our Strength’s “Great American Bake Sale” which aims to end childhood hunger by 2015. The organization’s commitment to ensuring that no child goes hungry is how the bake sale began; now all around the country charitable citizens are hosting their own bake sales to make a difference in the lives of needy children. Hosted by popular radio personality Vikki Locke of B 98.5, editor of Atlanta Weddings’ Elizabeth Ralls, Footprint Sustainable Talent’s Eryn Emerich and Tracy Nailor, a local contestant from MasterChef, this sweetly sophisticated evening includes several goodies that will have attendees in a shopping and tasting frenzy. Mixologists from popular eateries Bluepointe, Nava and Bistro Niko have created special dessert-inspired “caketails” that are equally delicious and potent. The stars of the show are the baked goods and this year they are whipped of by some of the best bakeries in Atlanta. The bake sale features mouth-watering items from Sweet Auburn Bread Co., Alon’s Bakery & Market, Highland Bakery, Buckhead Bread Co., Bakeshop and Chocolate Pink to name a few.

In addition to indulging in your sweet cravings, guests will also enjoy luxury shopping at Bloomingdale’s while using their Family and Friends Week discounts. Every Atlanta fashionista should definitely take advantage of the discount pricing at Bloomies, use it to complete your fall wardrobe or to get a jump on your winter ensemble. There is also a raffle where prizes include merchandise from Bloomingdale’s and select bakery treats. This best part however, is that all proceeds from the event, including ticket sales, earnings from the bake sale, raffle tickets and 10% of all Bloomingdale purchases at the event, will benefit Share Our Strength’s mission to effectively eliminate childhood hunger one sweet treat at a time.
