Atlanta’s Piedmont Park to Debut Ice Skating Rink

Piedmont Park is getting ready to debut its very own skating rink.  Set to open on November 22, the ice skating rink, known as The Rink, will be situated at 500 10th Street under Park Tavern’s Garden Tent.

For those of us who never seem to make to the rink at Centennial Olympic Park, this is a great alternative.   With amenities for all weather, you can skate day and night and even dine rink-side.

From what I have heard (and seen from that area of Piedmont Park) the views of the Midtown skyline are astonishing.  Book your tickets now because we expect the slots to fill up with parties and group rentals (considering the rink can only accommodate 200 people at once). Also, for the ultra-romantic, The Rink at Piedmont Park is offering  an Engagements on Ice Program.  Looks like they really have thought of everything.

Worried about the sporadic bouts of warm weather we Atlantans have come to know in the winter months?  Fear not, the Underground piping of glycol is used to keep the Rink ice-cold. Glycol is a type of anti-freeze which is kept at 3-4 degrees. Water is layered on top of the rink floor to create the layers of ice. Oh, and the ice team will be on hand to resurface several times a day.

Skate in the New Year at The Rink. For your chance on the ice, grab some tickets now.

The Rink is located at 500 10th Street, Atlanta, 404.249.0001
