Nothing sets the mood like a room with a view. You know they think you’re nuts when you ask for an western-facing room with a beach view, but you know what the moment is worth. And if you have to sacrifice waves for walls of glass, then you must be living in Dallas. Don’t forsake your dream; you can still get a bird’s eye view of the city at these haute spots.

1 Reunion Tower/Wolfgang Puck's Five Sixty

Spin the ball. Possibly the most noticeable trademark building on the Dallas skyline, Reunion Tower now boasts the exclusive Wolfgang Puck restaurant Five Sixty, a sexy sushi and Asian-influenced cuisine joint that gives you a panoramic, slowly revolving, 360 degree view of Dallas. That's because the restaurant is situated atop a 560-foot tower, inside a rotating, glowing ball. If you're not too hungry, head to the tower at sunset and grab a drink in the Top of the Dome Lounge over the restaurant, and get a great view of a city transforming from day to night.

2 The Green Room

Don't bother looking for the full name: this Deep Ellum eatery is simply headlined "Room" in neon green (great way to pull the wool over tourist eyes.) Thankfully back in action after a brief hiatus, this restaurant still boasts the most amazing rooftop patio view of Downtown Dallas, now equipped with a bar. Sometimes you don't have to be really high to enjoy a view. It just helps.

3 The Pool at the Belmont Hotel

This little boutique hotel in Oak Cliff has a great pool connected to a large lawn and outdoor bar. The best part, of course, is the view: the vantage point from the south side of Dallas is incredible, and you get quite an eyeful of the skyline as you"re sun bathing on your lawn chair. Great place to take out-of-town guests.

4 Ghostbar

On the top of Victory Park's W Hotel lies Ghostbar, an exclusive nightclub that hosts many concert after-parties and celeb sightings. If you're getting a little hot boogying and need some air, head outside to the large balcony, featuring floor to ceiling windows offering incredible views of the city. Want to freak out a little bit? There's also a small square of floor made of glass, allowing whoever stands over it a view down 30 something floors. Yikes.

5 Nana at the Hilton Anatole

Great restaurant with great views, period. Nana is a premiere Dallas eatery inside the Hilton Anatole, and it rests, of course, at the top of the hotel. Picturesque views with five star dining make this a perfect date spot.
