Boston is a favorite city for many because of its blend of modern buildings and old world charms in a fairly clean and bright setting for such a busy metro area. And while Boston may be the walking city, sometimes it’s nice to sit back and take it all in from afar, or from above. So how do you get the best view of Boston? Easy. Just check out Haute Living’s take on the top 5 views of Boston.
1 Top of the Hub
Taking in Boston from one of the tallest buildings in the city just makes sense. If you are looking for a complete 360 option – Top of the Hub and the Skywalk at the top of the Prudential Building are Boston’s answer to the Empire State Building experience. Smack dab in the center of the city, the views are incredible, the food and service are some of the best in the city and the trip to the top is quick and painless (unlike the Empire experience)
Top of the Hub is located at the top of the Prudential Building, 800 Boylston St., Back Bay, Boston 617.536.1775
2 State Room
If you like to be a part of the view, the State Room is perhaps the ultimate option for Boston views. With floor to ceiling windows you will feel as though you are a part of the vista that surrounds you from their 33rd floor venue. This is easily one of the top (pun intended) spots in the city for impressing clients or wowing that special someone. A gala here has never been known to fall flat.
State Room is located on the 33rd floor at 60 State St., Financial District, Boston 617.854.5000
3 Meritage ~ The Restaurant

4 Tavern on the Water
Sometime you have to take a step back to see the beauty of a painting. The same is true for the Boston cityscape. Hook around to the Charlestown Ship yard for a beautiful look at from the other side of Boston Harbor. For the most romantic of views, wait for the sun to fade and the city lights to ramp up for a breathtaking night sky view of Boston. Great for year round views with balcony seating in the warmer climates and plenty of windows for the chillier times ahead.
Tavern on the Water is located at the Charlestown Navy Yard, One 8th St., Pier 6, Charlestown 617.242.8040
5 East Coast Aero Club
You may have spent your whole life in Boston, but if you have yet to see its majesty from above you are in for a real treat. Viewing Boston via helicopter is an experience like none other: more intimate than the view from first class as you jet from Logan and more awe inspiring than jetting through the streets in your sports car. Taking off from Hanscom Field in Bedford, MA, you will have a chance to take in views of Thoreau’s Walden Pond in Concord, retrace Paul Revere’s ride from the harbor out to the west, or hover above the city for beautiful cityscapes.
East Coast Aero Club is located at Hanscom Field - Civilian Terminal, 200 Hanscom Drive, Bedford, 781.274.6322
