Shaken, stirred, clean or dirty, there’s nothing more classic than ordering a martini like a certain James Bond. So while you might not have the futuristic gadgets, you can have another of England’s most notorious secret agent’s vices. And since there’s no right way to order one up, a visit to any of these spots will give you the chance to try something new.
1 Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale's
The bar at Charlie Palmer might be the hippest one in the county. With off-duty brokers, the pre-theater OCPAC crowd and the sexiest singles, it’s no wonder the place is packed around the clock. The martinis here are experimental and don’t knock the Cougartini before you try it – the mix of citrus and sweet is just the thing to add some swagger to your stiletto-clad step.
2 Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse
For a steakhouse that prides itself on the classics, the martinis poured at the Fleming’s bar are anything but ordinary. This month, try the Bombshell, with Stoli Vanil or the Clear Cosmo, a twist on an old favorite. For purists, the Vintage Vodka Martini is clean, smooth and never disappoints.
3 Landmark Steak House
Landmark’s 37-foot U-shaped bar is the restaurant’s focal point, so it’s no surprise that the martinis are at once classic and contemporary. For some major cache, there’s bottle service to be had on the patio, dining room and lounge and you can bet the top-shelf martinis come with.
4 Uva Bar
An oasis from the sprawl of Anaheim’s entertainment district, you’ll be surprised to see some of the best martini being served up at Uva, right at the heart of Downtown Disney. Don’t be fooled, this is an adult playground and the full bar pours martinis that are a refreshing reprive.
5 Commonwealth Lounge
While they might be best known for serving absinthe, the bartenders at Commonwealth know how to mix a mean martini alongside your green fairy. Enjoy one in the plush chairs or leather booths and you’ll think you’re in an old school gentlemen’s club.
