Valley Vintage: A Fashion Experience at Hotel Valley Ho

Members of the Phoenix community will be presenting a very special runway show at Hotel Valley Ho on Friday, Oct. 29. The exclusive Valley Vintage event will feature glamorous fashions by Robert Black and vintage-inspired swimwear by Monique Fagre, and will benefit the Florence Crittenton Foundation, which aids at-risk girls between the ages of 12 and 21.

If you consider yourself a true fashionista and Phoenix socialite, you are not going to want to miss this unique evening. Designed in the style of fashion shows from the 1950s, the event will showcase everything from elegant gowns and casual ensembles to business attire and swimwear with vintage and retro flair a la Jackie O.

Watch the FORD/Robert Black models strut their stuff down a 150-foot elevated runway amid the Valley Ho’s palm trees and gardens to the sounds of jazz group The Martini Kings, a band you may recognize as having performed on HBO’s “Entourage.” And make no mistake, you will feel like you’ve stumbled backwards into another era at this cocktail party, thanks to models and actors who will be mingling with the crowd dressed as cigar girls, hepcats, glamour wives, intellectuals and beatniks, adding to the retro vibe. Enjoy old-school cocktails and nosh, and then be prepared to take in some fun and fancy fashions in a setting unlike any other.

Of course, what better venue is there for a trip down mid-century memory lane than the Hotel Valley Ho, beloved by many a Hollywood starlet and leading man in decades past, including Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood, who held a lavish wedding reception at the hotel in 1957. If you want to do as the stars, the hotel will be offering special room rates for the weekend of Oct. 29. Call for details and to book.

Sponsors of Valley Vintage include Phoenix Magazine, Phoenix Home & Garden, Monique Fagre Swimwear, Eddie V’s Edgewater Grille, Wildfish Seafood Grille, Roaring Fork, Yelp and Mercedes-Benz. General entry is $50 per seat, with VIP entry $250 per seat and Premium VIP entry $400 per seat.
