The Atlanta Ballet Presents Moulin Rouge

It seems that ballet and ballerinas are the current fixture on the pop culture radar, (See: the just-released Kanye West short film Runway for further proof) and Atlanta has all of the elegance and grace a beautiful ballet provides as the beloved Moulin Rouge comes to Atlanta for a limited run ending on October 31. Presented by the Atlanta Ballet, who always manages to put on beautiful performances, guests should head to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and experience greatness up close and personal with a choice front-row seat.

Based in the Parisian dancehalls and cabarets of the late 1890s, and the birthplace of the legendary (and controversial) can-can dance, Moulin Rouge tells the story of two young lovers drawn to Paris by the city’s passion, and the one man who can take an artist from the streets to the spotlight in the blink of an eye. Expect an exhilarating story of love, romance, tragedy, passion and jealously, beautifully choreographed and performed by the superstars of the Atlanta Ballet.

Although in town since October 22, Moulin Rouge does not officially end its run until Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. when the last performance is scheduled to take place. Additional performances are 10/28 at 8 p.m., 10/29 at 8 p.m. and 10/30 at 2 & 8 p.m.  Tickets are still available at press time, so you have an opportunity to witness the legendary tale that is filled with great music, beautiful costumes, a relatable story and absolutely breathtaking ballet routines. Hurry and get your tickets and you too can brag about the hottest show that has all of Atlanta raving! Ticket prices vary from $20 to $120 and are available at Ticketmaster outlets.

The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy 770.916.2800
