Taste of Luxury: Ace of Spades VIP Champagne Dinner

You may have caught a glimpse of these bottles in one of Jay-Z’s videos. I know I was drawn to this luxe bubbly as soon as I saw the distinctive gold bottle with pewter Ace of Spades label. So, when I was invited to attend a Taste of Luxury hosted by Frank Ski at 10 Degrees South in Atlanta, I was delighted for a chance to taste this true example of French champagne tradition.

Armand de Brignac more commonly known as Ace of Spades, has a family history dating back to 1763. Made in the tiny French village of Chigny-les-Roses, the Cattier family continue to own and operate the production. In fact, the production is so small, that they are barely keeping up with the demand. And superstars, like Diddy, Trey Songz, and Beyonce are not the only ones who are enjoying this brute. In a blind taste of over 1000 champagnes, Armand de Brignac was rated number one. And for good reason.

Guest of the evening included Ryan Glover and his wife, actor Lance Gross, tv personality Corinna Allen, Will Packer, co-owner of Rainforest Films and Devyne Stephens sipped on the exquisite Brut Gold, Armand de Brignac Rose, which is the finest example of pink champagne and (my favorite) the Blanc de Blancs, which is pressed from an exclusive selection of White Chardonnay. The champagne was paired expertly with the South African cuisine of 10 Degrees South.

Move over Cristal, Armand de Brignac is taking over.
