African Revival is holding the annual charity ball at the  Dorchester Hotel ballroom on Park Lane.  Guests can enjoy the opulence of the hotel whilst experiencing a beautiful and extravagant Masquerade Ball. African Revival works directly with communities in Africa in the belief that every child, no matter how poor, has the right to a quality basic education; that education is improved through investing in people and; that communities hold the key to sustainable education.

2 10.25.10 The Bobby Moore Fund End of Summer Sports Ball

Join Stephanie Moore MBE and celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment at the annual Bobby Moore Fund Sports Ball. This black-tie ball featuring champagne reception, dinner, auction and live music is in aid of Cancer Research UK. This year's event will be held on a late summer's evening at the prestigious Hurlingham Club in London. Television presenter Gaby Roslin and comedian and actor Omid Djalili will be the celebrity MCs for the evening's entertainment. The fundraising total for last year's event was over £154,000 and this year the fund hopes to raise even more. The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK raises money for research into bowel cancer through a variety of fundraising activities. A table of 10 costs £1,750.

3 10.26.10 A Very Musical Evening in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust

Aled Jones will host an outstanding evening of musical talent as various celebrity artists from the worlds of pop, jazz, musical theatre and comedy come together in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. The evening will also include a prize auction as well as a ‘word auction,’ where multi-award winning theatre composer and lyricist duo Stiles and Drewe will create a song during the interval based on words provided by the audience. The night's line up so far includes Jonathan Groff from Glee, Gareth Gates of Pop Idol and Les Mis, James Bourne of Busted, The Priscilla Divas, and other guests yet to be announced. Every year 2000 teenagers in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. Teenage Cancer Trust focuses on the needs of those with cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin's and related diseases by providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals.

4 10.6.10 Inspiration Awards for Women

The Inspiration Awards for Women in association with Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a glamorous and uplifting event. The awards celebrate inspirational women nationally and internationally. Attendees have included Dame Helen Mirren, Hayley Westen, and Dame Kelly Holmes. Last year Ruthie Henshall, Cara Dillon, and Blake performed. A host of celebrities and VIPs mingle and enjoy an evening of classical and jazz performances by some of the industry’s most talented artists. A substantial donation will be made to Breakthrough Breast Cancer from proceeds of this event.

5 10.15.10 The Pink Buddies Ball in aid of the Lavender Trust

Former breast cancer patients at London Bridge Hospital, known as the “Pink Buddies” are organizing a charity ball to raise vital funds for younger women diagnosed with the disease at the newly refurbished Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden. The Pink Buddies Ball will include live entertainment, a disco and a three-course dinner. Breast cancer is the number one cancer amongst young women in the UK. It will affect over 2000 women under the age of 40 each year. The Lavender Trust helps young women in particular to maintain a positive body image and lifestyle, key issues for all women dealing with breast cancer.
