Nothing says celebration like a classy steak dinner. But a New York Strip and side of whipped potatoes simply won’t do anymore. Philadelphia foodies prefer their dry-aged steaks with gourmet accessories and served within some of the most beautiful dining rooms in town. Get quality beef and jaw-dropping design when you dine at one of these top steak destinations.

1 Barclay Prime

Maybe it's the perfect blend of old school men's club and modern design. Or perhaps its the melt-in-your mouth Australian Tajima Kobe beef. Either way, this popular Rittenhouse Square spot has us coming back often.

2 Butcher & Singer

Another Starr restaurant, you say? Oh, yes. Sure, they both focus on meaty cuts of prime beef, but Butcher & Singer goes its own path with an Old Hollywood theme of dim lights and cushy, tufted-leather banquettes. Order a Manhattan and the massive Delmonico and settle in for then night.

3 The Capital Grille

A chain it may be, but we can't find another else to deter us from this classic steak spot on the Avenue of the Arts. From the gilded portraits on the wall to divine dinners of super-rich lobster bisque and dry aged filet, They are doing plenty right.

4 Union Trust Steakhouse

This spot is just, well, pretty. I mean, look at the ceilings. Look at the architecture. Oh, and look at that shitake-rubbed Kobe steak. Feasts for the eyes and stomach fill this historical location. For a special experience, ask your waiter about the vertical tasting.

5 Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Another chain, but with only one in the state, Fleming's always leaves us wanting more. We love the entertaining wine flights almost as much as the tender steaks, seared at 1600 degrees and then served with a decadent béarnaise sauce.
