Moscow’s Nobu Celebrates Its Anniversary with Robert De Niro

We all know actor Robert De Niro for his immortal roles in the Hollywood movies, but De Niro is also an outstanding businessman: he is one of the shareholders of the world-famous restaurant chain Nobu. So it is not surprising that “The Godfather” and “Meet the Fockers” star visited the Russian capital to celebrate the local Nobu anniversary. The Moscow branch of the legendary Nobu, the 24th in the chain, opened in 2009. Due to some problems at the airport, De Niro was only able to arrive late at night to the restaurant, where he was still awaited by the guests of the event and by his Russian partners Aras and Amin Agalarov, millionaire developers.

De Niro second mission in Moscow was to represent his latest film — psychological thriller “Stone,” which also features Milla Jovovich and Edward Norton. The story follows a correctional officer (De Niro) who is seduced by the wife of a convicted arsonist (Norton) up for parole.

Moscow’s premiere of the film took place in a new shopping mall Vegas.

The shopping center was so overcrowded with De Niro fans, and the security could hardly handle the their pressure. What caused such the stir is the fact that De Niro opened the first star at the local walk of fame, unveiled just in front of the mall at the same day. The next two stars here will bare names of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who are expected in Moscow in the late October for a charity event.
