Haute Events: Jennifer Hudson Hosts The Michigan Ave Mag Anniversary Party

Crowds dressed to the nines. Black-tie all around. Cocktails flowing. Just your typical Tuesday night, no? With a line literally circling the block of the rockin’ House of Blues, Chicago’s elite came out to play at the Michigan Avenue Magazine Two-Year Anniversary Celebration hosted by homegirl turned Grammy-award winner turned starlet, Jennifer Hudson. Hudson graced guests with a moving rendition of “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston (perhaps in homage to her Chicago fam)? Spotted in the crowd were the Bachelorette‘s Ed Swiderski, Chicago Bears rookie J’Marcus Webb andMajor Wright, former-bear Jerry Azumah and White Sox General Manager Kenny Williams.

The most ironic twist of the night was the goody bag- pies. Isn’t she the Weight Watchers spokesperson, guys? Maybe a bag of carrots would have been more appropriate. Either way, we will always love you too, J.Hud.
