Haute Event: Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Patrons’ Season Opening Cocktail Party

On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Young Patrons of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas (POA) along with conductor Alondra de la Parra, celebrated the season opening at Casa Mezcal on the Lower East Side. The evening previewed POA’s first concert of the season, which takes place Friday, Oct. 29 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.  Composer and DJ Gene Pritsker mixed music from the upcoming concert and POA clarinetist Nuno Antunes performed.

The party also celebrated POA’s and Alondra de la Parra’s debut album, Mi Alma Mexicana, which earned a Gold Record in Mexico — the first classical recording to do so in more than a decade.

Guests included Victoria Alexander, Amanda Álvarez, Coromoto Atencio, Barbara Bush, Lorea Canales, Martín Capella, Ignacio Carballido, Daniela Catán, Christian Cota, Galit Gun, Carlos Huber, Guiselt Jimenez, Adriana Lanzillo, James Larocque, Pablo Sáinz-Villegas, Erik Stettler and Christopher Wheeldon, among others.
