Robert De Niro
What Made Him Haute: Arguably the finest actor of his generation, he’s also a force in Tribeca real estate and dining. The Greenwich Hotel, which is co-owned by the actor, opened in 2008.
What Makes Him Haute Now: The actor has just teamed up with Richard Price, a popular crime writer, to produce a new police drama for CBS. The latter is known for his work in HBO’s “The Wire,” and films like “The Color of Money” and “Clockers.” Now the two executive producers are teaming up for “Rookies,” a drama about a team of freshmen cops working in high-crime spots. CBS recently bought the script and will produce it in part with Tribeca Productions. Apparently more “intense” than CBS’s typical line-up, this show is expected to bring more edge to the network.
