What Made Them Haute: Oscar de la Renta is inarguably one of the world’s leading fashion designers. He received the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1990 and the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year Award in 2000 and in 2007. Annette serves on the boards of the Metropolitan Museum, the New York Public Library, the Morgan Library, The Animal Medical Center, and the Engelhard Foundation. She also served on the board of directors of Rockefeller University for 25 years.

What Makes Them Haute Now: Oscar de la Renta just made another sweet deal through his purchase of a $2.4 million condo in the SoHo Mews for his son, Moises de la Renta. The stunning condo was designed by Gwathmey Siegel and Associate Architects and includes two buildings connected by a landscaped courtyard called “the secret garden.” Oscar and Annette were recently featured in Jane Garmey’s new book, Private Gardens of Connecticut. The couple’s garden in Kent is said to include a marvelous alley of pear trees. Other features in the book include Michael Trapp and Bunny Williams.

During New York Fashion Week, de la Renta presented a stunning 62 ladylike looks, mostly gowns inspired by society women. Some standout celebrities at the show included Rachel Zoe, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Anna Wintour.
