First Class Flight

Flying Virgin America is more than flying than the friendly skies. It’s more like taking a joyride in a decked-out disco lounge with oversize leather chairs and studio 54 lighting not to mention in-flight Wi-Fi and shopping. So, when the good-times airline announced a new that they were adding a new destination to their roster, travelers chomped at the bit to know the location of Virgin’s latest terminal.

Turns out, Orlando is the latest touchdown for Virgin. And to celebrate the new addition as well as non-stop flights from both Los Angeles and San Francisco, Virgin flew a party plane from LA to Orlando at the crack of dawn. (After all, early birds get the worm and it’s never too early for Tequila shooters from the cocktail cart, as far as I’m concerned.)

Virgin VIP’s as well as winners from the “Awkward Family Vacation Everywhere” photo contest, sampled Virgin’s sumptuous cocktails, nibbled on treats from Virgin’s fresh fare and maxed and relaxed in Virgin’s comfy chairs.

They were joined by none other than company CEO, David Cush, who kicked it with the fab flyers while discussing the evolution of the brand, the expansion of Virgin’s destinations, and their singular arcade-inspired lighting.  Upon touching down at MCO, Virgin Group founder, Sir Richard Branson was on hand to meet and greet the guests as they deplaned for a champagne celebration. All guests also got to take a turn in a Virgin photo booth on arrival at MCO to preserve the memory of their trip. Hopefully, the wacky winners of America’s most awkward vacation snaps gave the rest of the Virgin passengers’ photo tips. On what not to do.
